Every year there are roughly 4 million workplace injuries and illnesses in the United States. To assist in reducing these numbers, OSHA has required employers to track their employees’ injuries and illnesses. This is done by recording them in what is often called an OSHA log.
Under a final rule, OSHA will revise its requirements for recording and submitting records of workplace injuries and illnesses. It will require some of this recorded information be submitted to OSHA electronically for posting to the OSHA website. This final ruling becomes effective January 1, 2017.
