DESCRIPTION:The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce will lead this community onboarding program designed to help new hires and new residents learn more about our community's history\, services and offerings. Join us for Breakfast with the Mayor! \n\n\n\nDid you know that the City offers free recycling or that the street sweeper actually removes thousands of tons of debris\, keeping pollutants out of our streams and rivers? Did you know that Parks and Recreation manages 23 parks\, and nearly 1\,000 acres of park land and maintains 23 miles of People Trails? Did you know that Community Development works on critical human needs such as housing quality and affordability?  Learn all this and more. \n\nThis 4 1/2 hour session will give us a unique behind-the scenes look at our city services.  We will begin our session with breakfast with Mayor Ferdon and then hear from 3 city department heads from Department of Public Works\, Columbus Parks & Recreation and Community Development.  We will then walk over to the Columbus Police Department and end our day at the historic Fire Station #1 on Washington Street for two rare behind-the-scenes tour.
